However we are not liable for any errors out-with of the website or that are reasonably out-with our control - for example in your browser or network connection. If you do have an error please contact us to discuss and we will investigate.

Legal Age / Identity Checks

You must be of legal age (typically 18 years old) to place any bets on this system. We typically take steps to verify your identity and we may request additional proof of identity and place of residence / age before we allow you to place any bets or withdraw funds, in line with applicable Anti Money Laundering legislation or other legislation that may apply.

Account Limitations / Closure

Additionally, we reserve the right to close or limit your account at any time. In these situations, please contact the customer services team of your operator, who may be able to help with any questions you may have.

Betting Limits

We may also place limitations on stakes or maximum winnings.

You can also access information on these limits via the app using the bet max button on the website next to any bet.

This will calculate the relevant winnings and payout amount and tell you what your maximum wager can be.

If you have queries on these, please contact the customer services team of your operator, who will be able to help with more information on these limits.

Our the system will also advise you if these limits are breached.

Limits - How it Works

Single bets

The bet limits are generally calculated on a total level per market of the event that you are betting on.

For example, if the wager limit is 500, and you had either one bet of 501 or a total set of bets placed that totalled over 500, then the bet would not be allowed to be placed.

Limits: Multiple Bets

The same calculation is used for the overall bet win limit, and this will apply to both single and multiple bets. The overall win is calculated both on the overall max win limit of the current bet, but also across any multiple bets that may have been placed.

Minimum Stake Limit

There is no overall calculation for minimum bet - this is simply the minimum stake for any bet (single or multiple), per leg / combination.

The system will calculate these limits and advise you if the bet can be placed.

As always, if you have any queries on this, please don't hesitate to contact us, our team will be happy to help and advise.

Currency

The currency is as listed in the site within your account.

Neither we nor the operator of the site can accept no liability for any differences in conversion between the listed currency and any currency that your account may be operated in.

Language / Applicable Laws

The terms used for dispute resolution will be in the English language only. Any queries or questions regarding the rules will related solely to the English language version of these rules.

The applicable law to resolve issues is based on Isle of Man Law, and any guides to player queries are related to Isle of Man Gaming Supervision Commission terms and conditions.

Acceptance Of Terms

Your use of these services will constitute acceptance of the Terms and any amendments thereto.

If you do not agree to accept and be bound by the Terms, please discontinue your use of these services and the Websites.

Changes To Terms

We reserve the right to amend at any time the Terms (including to any document to which reference is made herein).

If you object to any such changes, you must immediately stop using the Service as by continuing to use the Service, you agree to be bound by such changes. Common Terms For Sports Games

Postponed Events

If a game is suspended or postponed, all bets will remain active for 48 hours after kickoff.

If we receive news that a postponed game has been rescheduled for some time after these 48 hours, we will immediately return all funds from pending bets;

If a betting event is postponed, cancelled or does not start at the time displayed in the betting offer and rescheduled for a date within the 48 hours and then postponed again, all bets will be active for yet another 48 hours from the last rescheduled date.

This process would continue as long as the postponed game kept getting rescheduled within the 48 hours.

NOTE: During 2020, rules on Covid may mean that events are cancelled or postponed at short notice, or the times of the events may be updated at short notice. We will do our best to follow the rules as set out above, and if you have any concerns please contact us and we will advise based on the current up to date information.

Cancelled or Abandoned Events

In the event of a match or fixture or other event being cancelled (and not postponed as detailed above), bets will normally be marked as void and the stake returned to the user, or in the case of a series of multiple bets, this would be treated as a "push".

There are certain exceptions where the relevant ruling authority for the game or fixture may announce a result in favour of one side, and if this happens it is usual that our decision would follow this determination.

However: Note that our decision on the outcome of such an event is binding and final.

Please be assured that we will always strive to reach the correct decision based on the current information.

Maximum Payout / Winnings

In general any bet that is made is subject to a maximum winnings and payout. This is typically either RMB 100,000 (or the equivalent in the currency that is set by your operator) or the amount specified by your operator, which ever is lower.

The bets may also have a limited payout set as per the sport and category of item. Your operator will advertise these limits from time to time.

You can also access information on these limits via the app using the bet max button on the website next to any bet.

This will calculate the relevant winnings and payout amount and tell you what your maximum wager can be.

NOTE: Champion Sports reserves the right to set the currency conversion rate at a rate that is advertised by our chosen currency exchange on the day of any payout. Any decision on the rate used is final.
Ordinary Time or Full Time

Unless it is explicitly listed in the bet or in conjunction with an offer, or in the specific rules for a sport, all bets are considered to be valid for the result at the end of the ‘Ordinary’ or ‘Regular’ time only. These terms are considered as defined and interpreted by the official rules published by the relevant governing organisation for that Sport. An example of this is that Ordinary or Regular or Full Time is 90 minutes including injury time for Football matches, and excludes any extra time or penalties / sudden death arrangements.

If a bet applies to a different time period, then it will show as, for example, "Double Chance 1st Half (Ordinary Time)" and this is defined to be the "Double Chance" market of the first half of Ordinary time of the event, as per our terms and conditions. The rules of settling will apply for this market during this time period only.

Similarly "Sending Off Second Half (Ordinary Time)" applies to the market "Sending Off" for the second half of Ordinary time. The rules of settling for that market type will apply during that time period.

Live Sports Betting

‘Live Sports Betting’ is where it’s possible to place bets during a game or event that is in progress. We do not accept nor do we acknowledge any liability at all if it is not possible to place a bet (or cash out) a bet or if the live scores updates are not correct (though we do take every care to try to ensure that all information is correct and as up to date as possible). It is your responsibility as a player to ensure that you are fully aware of the current state of events and situations in each match that you as a player plan to place a bet on.

Furthermore, we do not accept any liability if the schedule changes or if there are any interruptions to both play or the live sports betting schedule, and we reserve the right to change this as circumstances may dictate.

Information or Statistics Displayed

On some events we may display a score for that event, or we may display team lists, or we may pass on other relevant information such as yellow cards, red cards etc. Please note that these displays are purely indicative only and customers should not rely on such information to place a bet. We cannot accept any responsibility or liability if this information is inaccurate or incorrect.

Unforeseen events

In the case of multi/system bets, bets whose results influence the results of other bets are not allowed. If it is accidentally accepted, the event with the lowest coefficient is cancelled. If the coupled events are organised at different dates, the event with the later date is cancelled. (e.g.: bet on the driver, that he will win the Canadian Grand Prix and bet on the same driver that he will also win the driver’s championship)

Delayed bets

The bets can be placed only for future events. If the outcome is already known, but it does not appear yet in the offer, the bets which refer to this are cancelled (for instance: if a bet is made with reference to the first goal, after the first goal has already been scored). If a bet is made after the beginning of the event or the betting amount has not yet been paid, the bet loses its validity (except the bets that can be placed during the event) (In live betting)

Secret agreement.

The clients may place the bets themselves. The repeated statement of the same bets or options may lead to the loss of their validity. At the same time, we can withdraw the validity of certain bets, if we consider that the clients had a secret agreement or if the bets have been placed by one or more clients in a very short period of time.

Unfair advantage (Rigging).

If the organizer suspects that an event is manipulated, at his sole discretion, it reserves its right to: - Suspend the offers referring to any event or series of events;

•To postpone and/or to retain payment for the events or series of events in question, until the integrity of the event or series of events receives confirmation from the valid, official sports association

•Also, if the manipulation of the event is confirmed by the sports association in question and the bet was placed for the event or the series of events, the Organiser, to its discretion, reserves the right to cancel the bets placed for the given event with the persons identified as having internal information or with persons who, according to the company, are in relation with the event or collaborate with the person mentioned.

Gaming Restrictions

When the user places a bet of 5 legs or more in a multiple bet, there is a restriction that the minimum odds for each item in the bet must be at least 1.20.

Rules

Football

1. First Half Betting

Any bets that are placed apply to the first 45 minutes of betting including any injury time only. Note that matches of 80 minutes in duration, the first half is considered to be 40 minutes in length.

Any events occurring after the end of the first half (after the referee has blown their whistle), are not considered to be a part of this first half and will not apply to any markets during this specified period.

2. Second Half Betting

Any bets that are placed apply to the second 45 minutes of betting including any injury time only.

The second half only applies from when the referee blows their whistle to begin the second half, and any occurrences before this time will not count or apply to markets for this period.

Note that matches of 80 minutes in duration, the first half is considered to be 40 minutes in length. Note that this means that the second half is also considered to be 40 minutes in length in this situation.

Extra time does not count as part of Second half betting. Penalty rounds or sudden death do not count as part of Second half betting.

Any events occurring after the end of the first half (after the referee has blown their whistle and before the referee has blown their whistle to signal the start of the second half^), are not considered to be a part of this first half and will not apply to any second half markets during this specified period.

3. Extra Time Betting

Extra time includes period of play between the end of normal time (i.e. 90 minutes play plus any time added on for stoppages) and the end of the match.

Extra time does not include penalty shoot outs.

Extra time markets such as time of first goal, correct score, next goalscorer will start from the beginning of extra time and doesn’t include normal time.

4. Penalty Shoot out betting

This period does not include normal time or extra time betting, and only penalties scored during this period will be counted, and this is regardless of any other penalties awarded in the remainder of the game.

5. Abandoned Matches

Should a match be abandoned at any time before the final whistle, then all bets will be deemed as void, unless a definitive result for the market/period has already been determined prior to abandonment.

These results and bets will be settled according to the official result, for example, first goal scorer, half-time betting, time of the first goal.

If, however the relevant sport’s governing football body have indicated via official sources that the match will be completed and played the following day, then any remaining bets will stand

6. Postponed Matches & Venues

If a match Venue is changed prior to kick off, then all bets placed based on the original listing will be void.

If the home and away team for a match that is listed are reversed (such that the home team is now the official away team), then all bets based on the original arrangement are void.

The exception is if the match is being played at a Neutral venue, this will not necessarily indicate any home or away team. Therefore all bets will stand, and this is regardless of the venue of where the match will be played.

Bets placed on postponed matches will be marked as void.

A short time delay for any other reason, considered to be up to and including a period of 6 (six) hours may not necessarily be considered as a postponement, and the bet will still be valid (subject to our determination of the circumstances, we reserve the right to consider this a postponement under certain circumstances).

We are not liable for any change / cancellation or delay or postponement of any match.

7. Dead Heats or Tie / Byes

A dead heat or Tie is when two or more selections in an event tie. If a dead heat between two selections in any event is declared, then half the stake is applied to the selection at full odds, and the the other half is lost. If more than two dead heats are declared, the stake is proportioned between the remaining selections.

Football - Available Markets

• Will the player score : No refund on non-starting

* Double chance : What will be the match result, double the result, 12, 1X, 2X. These show up on the slip as "1X", "12" and "2X" and these represent respectively "Home / Tie" "Home / Away" and "Away / Tie".

This bet covers two of the three possible outcomes in a football match. 1X - "Home Team and Draw" - Bet is a winner if the home team wins over the specified time period or it is a draw during the specified time period. 2X - "Away Team and Draw" - Bet is a winner if the away team wins over the specified time period or it is a draw during the specified time period.

NOTE: Our software will substitute the name of the team in the market as shown:

•Matchbet And Both Team to Score: this bet is a combination of a prediction on who will win the game (ie Home Team / Away Team or Tie) and the possibility of both teams scoring a goal or point during this time period. For example, if we bet on the home team, and the score was 2-1 then the bet would win. But if the score was 1-0 then the bet would NOT be won.

•Penalty Awarded: No refund if the match is abandoned and no penalty scored. The market is settled when a penalty is awarded during the designated time period, including stoppage time added for stoppages but not including periods of extra time that may be added on to the match (such as Sudden Death periods of added time after 90 minutes).

• Team To Score Goal X - Settled on the team who reach the quoted goal first, in the event of an abandonment before 90 minutes have been played then all bets will be void unless settlement is already determined. Disallowed goals are not counted in this bet. An example: team 1 is quoted to get to goal 2 in Ordinary time. Therefore if they score the second goal in this time period, the bet will win. If the bet was for team 1 to score goal 1 in the second half of ordinary time, then it's the team that scores the 1st goal of the second half, regardless of the match score. So, if Team 1 scored the first goal of the second half, the bet would win.

• First scorer : No refund on non-starting

• Last Goalie : No refund on non-starting

• First Team to Score Goals : No refund on no goals scored

• Time of First Goal : Bets are settled on what time the goal is actually scored from official source

•To Win To Nil : Team to win match and keep a clean sheet.

• Number of corners : Based on the total number of corners taken in the match.

• Who does First X Corners : Settled on the team who reach the quoted number of corners first, in the event of an abandonment before 90 minutes have been played then all bets will be void unless settlement is already determined.

• Time For Next Team Goal : Settlement will be made by the time given by the official match source as the time of First / Next goal is scored.

• Create Alerts Over / Under : Settlement will be made with reference to all available evidence to cards shown during the scheduled 90 minutes play. Any card shown after the full time whistle has been blown will be disregarded.

• Half With Most Corners : According to the corner numbers of each half, the half with more corners won

• Team Number Corner : Number of corners a team gets

• Last Corner Kick : Which team will get awarded the last corner kick in the specific time period, in the event of an abandonment before 90 minutes have been played then all bets will be void unless settlement is already determined.

• Next corner : Which team will get the next corner Kick in the match, based on the current corner. The current corner means that the last corner that was taken prior to the bet being placed, for example, if the bet was placed on the 20th minute of a game, then the current corner would be the corner kick (if awarded) in the 20th minute or prior closest minute. The time of the bet being placed defines the effective time during the match that the bet was placed.

• Match Games and Totals : Combine 1x2 and over, only both won bets will win, all others lost

• To Go To Overtime : If match goes to overtime, then won, if not, lost

Over Under and Split Bets

Under Over bets are bets where you can bet on the total numbers of goals scored in a game (or cards / whichever the bet refers to):

  • Over/Under betting: You place a bet on "Over 2 Goals"

I win the bet when the total number of goals scored is higher than 2 (e.g. final score: 2-1, 2-3, 3-0, 1-3, 3-3, 2-2, etc.);

I lose the bet when the total number of goals score is lower than 2 (e.g. final score: 0-0, 1-0, 0-1);

I get my stake back when the total number of goals score is 2 (e.g. final score: 1-1, 2-0, 0-2);

  • Over/Under betting: You place a bet on "Over 2.5 Goals"

I win the bet when the total number of goals scored >= 3 (e.g. final score: 3-0, 0-3, 2-1, 1-2, 3-1, 2-4, etc,);

I lose the bet when the total number of goals scored < 3 (e.g. final score: 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, 0-1, 2-0, 0-2);

Splits (Over/Under)

Split bets are a combination of over/under bets and goal line refunds.  Bets on Over Under with mixed parameter can be half won and half lost, just like in the case of mixed Asian Handicaps.

These markets are presented with the decimals 0.25 or 0.75 added to the total goals. These are mentioned above

The goal total for the split market is determined by adding the totals for the two markets and dividing these by two. For example, split bets may take these forms:

Over 1.5 goals & Over 2 goals = Over 1.75 goals split bet

Over 2 goals & Over 2.5 goals = Over 2.25 goals split bet.

Examples:

Example 1: Manchester United plays Chelsea in the Premier League.

We offer odds on Over/Under 2.25 goals being scored in the match.

You bet on the match producing over 2.25 goals. Half the stake you wager goes to a bet on over 2.5 goals,

and half goes to a bet on over 2 goals. The final score of the match is a 1-1 draw – a total of 2 goals.

The first half of the bet loses, and the second half of the stake is refunded.

Example 2: Split Over Unders (OU):

OU 1.75 - is the result from combining OU 1.5 with OU 2;

OU 2.25 - is the result from combining OU 2 with OU 2.5;

OU 2.75 - is the result from combining OU 2.5 with OU 3;

OU 3.25 - is the result from combining OU 3 with OU 3.5;

Example 3: Over Under 2.25 and I place bet on Under 2.25

I win the bet when the total number of goals is <2 (e.g. final score: 0-0, 1-0, 0-1);

I lose the bet when the total number of goals is >=3 (e.g. final score: 2-1, 1-2, 3-0, 0-3, 2-2, etc.);

The bet is HALF WON when the total number of goals scored is 2 (e.g. final score: 1-1, 2-0, 0-2);

The odds and winnings calculation system is identical to the one from Asian Handicap.

Example 4: Milan - Inter abandoned in min 74 at 2-0, half time score 1-0

I lose if I placed a bet on Over 1.5 Goals at half time;

I win if I placed a bet on Over 1.5 Goals Full time;

If I placed a bet on O/U 1.75 full time, the bet will be half won and half voided;

If I placed a bet on Over 2 full time, the bet will be voided;

If I placed a bet on Over 2.5 full time, the bet will be voided;

Asian Handicap Full time Excluding Overtime:

It is settled on the result of the game. The teams will be given various lines of handicaps and it will be the final result that counts.This betting type has only 2 outcomes, Home and Away,draw being excluded.

Asian Handicap can have 2 types of parameters:

Integer (e.g. -/+1, -/+2, etc.);

Decimal (e.g. -/+0.5, -/+ 0.75, -/+1.25, etc.);

Please refer to the following examples regarding settlement of bets:

Example 1: Match: Chelsea - Liverpool, market: Asian Handicap 0, I place a bet on home.

I win the bet when Chelsea beats Liverpool, no matter the score;

I get the stake back when the match ends in a draw;

I lose the bet when liverpool beats Chelsea, no matter the score.

Example 2: Match: Chelsea - Liverpool, market: Asian Handicap 0.5, I place a bet on home.

I win the bet when the match ends in a draw (e.g. 0-0, by adding the advantage given by the parameter, the score turns into 0.5:0, so home wins) or

Chelsea defeats Liverpool no matter what the score is;

I lose the bet when Liverpool beats Chelsea (e.g. 0-1, 0-2, etc.).

Example 3: Match: Chelsea Liverpool, Asian Handicap -0.25,I place a bet on home @odds 2.0 with 100 EUR, the stake will be divided: EUR 50 going to AH 0 and EUR 50 to AH -0.5. If the match ends in a draw (e.g. 1-1):

EUR 50 from AH 0 will be returned to the user;

EUR 50 from AH -0.5 will be lost (by deducting the disadvantage given by the parameter the score will turn into: 0.5 -1, as a result,away wins while home loses; For HALF LOST bets, the odds will always turn into 0.5, so the user winings will be new odds*stake, which is 50 EUR (0.5*100).

I win the bet when Chelsea beats Liverpool, no matter what the score is.

I lose the bet when Liverpool beats Chelsea, no matter what the score is.

Asian Handicap With Score/Asian Handicap 1st Half With Score:

All bets on these markets are settled according to the score-line for the remainder of the game/half after the bet has been accepted; any goals prior to the bet being placed are ignored for settlement purposes.

Final score 2:0, 3:1, 4:2 If you bet on Juventus, your bet will be half-won (ex: If you bet on Juventus €100, your net win €45)

Final score 1:0, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3,2:1, 2:2, 3:2, 3:3 If you bet on Man. United, your bet will be won (ex: If you bet on Man. United €100, your net win €105)

NOTE: If a betting event is suspended or interrupted and rescheduled for a date within 48 hours, all bets will stand, except for those bets the outcome of which has already been determined at the time of interruption;

If the betting offer only includes the two boxes, with a draw either not offered or offered as a separate proposal, and the match ends in a draw, bets on either boxer will be refunded.

In the event of a false start or any other incident resulting in a race being re-run, 'under starter's orders' is negated and stakes will be refunded on horses taking no part in the re-run;

Postponements

If a race is abandoned or declared void then any bets will be void. If the race is postponed to a future day and the final Declaration stand, all bets will stand;

However, all single bets on horse racing will be void and any selection involved in accumulative bets will be treated as a non-runner if:

The race is abandoned;

The race is officially declared void;

The conditions of the race are altered after bets have been made;

The venue is altered;

The running surface is altered (eg from Turf to All Weather).

Ante-Post Betting

Ante post betting will cease at the Final Declaration stage and all bets after this will be non-runner, no bet;

Unless specifically stated otherwise, stakes are lost on Ante-Post if a horse does not take part.

On days when classic or other trials occur, Ante-Post betting may be suspended and new prices issued;

Ante-Post bets on horses compulsorily withdrawn will be void and stakes returned. (Stewards are empowered to reduce the numbers in a race if, at the overnight declaration stage, too many have been left for the safety of horses and jockeys. Jockey Club Rule 121).

Ante-Post bets are set at the odds and place terms applicable at the time of acceptance. If the wrong odds are set, the wrong odds should be given.

Each-Way Betting

All bets are set to win unless Each Way is selected;

An Each-Way is made up of two bets. It contains one bet for your horse to win and a second bet for your horse to be placed.

When you place a bet on an each way market, your bet is split into two bets:

  1. One winning bet - paid out if your selection wins the race (or the wager that has been selected)
  2. One place winning bet - this is paid out if your selection places. This is like a half win selection.

For example - if you place a bet of 10.00 then the bet is split into two parts - 5.00 on the win, and 5.00 on the place.

The "Place" terms will be advertised for the event. In general, for UK horse racing the 'Place' part of Each-Way bets will be set up using the following 'Place' terms:

Less than 5 runners - the place money is invested to win;

Races of 5, 6 or 7 runners - one 1/4 the odds - first two places;

All other races of 8 or more runners 1/5 of the odds - first three places

Handicap races with 12 - 15 runners one 1/4 the odds - first three places

Handicap races with 16 or more runners 1/4 the odds - first four places

In all races the number of runners will be the number of runners coming under starters orders.

Bets won't be accepted where the place stake exceeds the win stake.

Other Sports

If a sport is not listed here, the rules and regulations for the bets and bet types are the same as for Football above.

Our decision on the result or outcome of a bet is final and binding, but if you do have a concern over these rules, please contact us.

Settling Of Events

In general, the process of settling a bet is done as soon as possible after an event is completed.

However, in peak periods or in certain other cases, bets may take slightly longer to be settled.

Settling - What does it mean?

To settle a bet means to calculate how much a winning bet is worth. People who work in betting shops or for bookmakers in the UK who do this are called 'Settlers'.

Most bet-settling today is done by automated computer systems, which are far faster, and more accurate than any human settler. However, if incorrect data is fed into a computer system, incorrect results will follow, so it may help if you know how much your bet is worth, so you can spot mistakes when they happen.

What happens when an event ends?

When we receive notification that an event has ended or reached a particular point, a short time after we will receive notifications of results for each bet type. When this happens, our systems will look through each of the bets placed, and use these notifications to determine:

  • If the bet was won, or lost (or for certain types, "Half Won" or "Half Lost", or alternatively "void")
  • In the case of the bet being won, and other bets as part of the overall wager being satisfied, the system will process your bet and credit your account
  • In the case of the bet being lost, then the system will update the status overall and update our systems accordingly
  • You will see the status of your bets update in the "My Bets" section of the website when this happens.

NOTE: A bet is not generally settled until all bet lines within the bet are notified as completed by our system. It will not "part pay out" a bet until every condition is satisfied.

What if a bet is "void"?

There are occasions when a bet is marked as "void" - for example if an event has to be abandoned without it being resolved. In this case, our system will either:

  • If it was a single bet, then the system will refund your stake to your account
  • If the bet has more lines, then the stake will be refunded and the remainder of the bet will be computed as normal.

In the case of multiple lines, one bet being marked void will not have an effect on the overall bet - you won't win the bet, but it doesn't affect the chances of other bets being won or lost as part of the overall wager.

Settling Win Doubles, Trebles and Accumulators

A double is a bet that two selections will win their respective races, and the winnings from the first runner are re-invested on the second. A treble is the same thing, but with three selections. An accumulator is a generic term that refers to any number of selections, where the money from each runner is re-invested on the next runner.

Settling simple multiple bets, such as doubles, trebles and accumulators is done by multiplying together the basic factors of each of the selections, and then multiplying by the stake

For example:

  • £10 double, two winners at 11/8 and 4/1. - 2.3750 x 5.0000 = 11.875 x £10 = £118.75

  • £2.50 treble, three winners at 2/1, 3/1 and 4/1. - 3.0000 x 4.0000 x 5.0000 = 60. x £2.50 = £150.00

Dead Heats, Rule Four and other items

There are various things that can happen in a race or event result which complicate the settlement of the bet.

In the majority of cases these simply adjust the basic factors used to calculate the bet settlement

In general, we'd use the official notification of a result from our feed provider, who will take the result from the official body for each event. Any decision taken on the outcome is final and binding.

Dead Heat

Where a selection wins the race in a dead heat with another runner, it is deemed to have 'half-won' the race, and the returns are divided accordingly.

In essence, the basic factor - and therefore the returns - are halved. Where there is a triple dead heat, the basic factor is divided by three, and so forth. It is worth noting that a dead heat for first place does not usually affect the place part of an each-way bet, because whether the selection came first or second, provided that there are five runners or more, then the selection is still placed.

Dead heat example:

  • A horse priced at 6/1 finishes in a dead-heat with another horse. A customer had £2 to win on that horse. Instead of the 2 x 7.0000 that he would have received had that horse won by itself, he receives 2 x 3.5000 = £7.00.

A common mistake made by customers is to assume that 6/1 in a dead heat is 3/1. It isn't, it's 5/2. The quick way to calculate the new price is to subtract the bottom half from the top half of the fraction, and double the bottom half. Thus 9/4 becomes 5/8, 7/2 becomes 5/4.

Dead heat rules also apply to unnamed favourite bets where there is more than one favourite in a race3. Where a bet is on the favourite and two runners are joint favourites, the bet is on both. If only one wins, which is quite likely, then you only get half of the money on that runner. It is easily possible, given multiple favourites in a race, to get back less than your stake as a result of this.

Rule 4

Rule 4 refers to Tattersalls Rule 4, which states that should a runner be withdrawn from a race at short notice, such that the bookmakers do not have time to create a new book (a set of prices for the now revised field), then the bookmakers can deduct, from winning bets, an amount calculated from the current price of the withdrawn runner.

This rule usually applies to Horse Racing and Greyhound racing.

In practice, rule 4 applies only to bets at fixed odds (not bets placed at starting price, which is what you get if you didn't ask for a price) prior to the withdrawal. However, if the withdrawal occurs just before the start of the race, it can apply to all bets. Rule 4 deductions are declared as some number of pence in the pound, and apply to winnings only. The stake is returned intact. To calculate the new basic factor for a selection affected by a rule 4 deduction, take the fractional price, multiply by one less the rule four factor (for example, for a 15p rule 4, use 0.85), and add one to get the new basic factor. This basic factor can then be used in all of the calculations above.

Rule four starts off at 5p in the pound for selections at 14/1 or lower and goes up to a maximum 95p in the pound for selections which are heavily odds on, such as 1/25. ('Odds on' means that the price is less than evens, meaning that if it wins, you get less than double your money back; 'odds against' means the opposite). The rule 4 table can be available to you, please ask your operator for details of this.

Non-Runner

Where non-runners are selected, they effectively have a basic factor of 1.0000. This means that any money that goes onto a non-runner is returned unaltered. Rule 4 does not apply to non-runners, nor do dead heats. Where a selection is repeated in a bet, for instance a treble on horses A, B, and A, the second and subsequent times the selection is mentioned, it is treated as a non-runner. One non-runner in a forecast turns that forecast into a non-runner, with returns of 1.0000, but a single non-runner in a tricast turns that bet into a forecast on the remaining two selections.

Cricket

If a match venue is changed, then bets already placed will stand, providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed match are reversed, then bets placed based on the original listing will be voided.

In matches affected by adverse weather, bets will be governed by the official competition rules with the following exception: if a match is decided on either a bowl out or the toss of a coin, then all bets will be voided.

If a match is abandoned due to outside interference, then bets will be voided unless a winner is declared based on the official competition rules. In the event of a change of opponent from the one advertised, then all bets for that match are voided.

If a match is cancelled, then all bets will be voided if it is not replayed within 24 hours of its advertised start time.

Where no price is quoted for the tie and the official competition rules do not determine a winner, then Dead-Heat rules will apply, in competitions where a bowl out or super over determines a winner then bets will be settled on the official result.

The result of a match is a tie when the scores are equal at the conclusion of the play, but only if the side batting last has completed its innings (i.e. all innings are completed, or, in limited-overs cricket, the set number of overs has been played or play is terminally stopped by weather or bad light).

Motor Racing

All race bets are settled on the official classification from the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the sport's governing body, at the time of the podium presentation.

Drivers Championship: Each participant is priced to be the top driver over the Formula 1 season in accordance with Drivers Championship standings, and rules as specified by the FIA. Each-way terms apply.

Constructors Championship: Each participant is priced to be the top constructor over the Formula 1 season in accordance with Constructors Championship standings, and rules as specified by the FIA. Each-way terms apply.

Head to Head: Two drivers or constructors may be paired/put in a group for betting purposes and prices offered on which of them will finish in a higher position in the Drivers/Constructors Championship standings, as specified by the FIA, and in accordance with their official rules. Minimum 16 races must take place for bets to stand.

Individual Grand Prix Betting: All drivers who start the formation lap are considered as runners. The podium positions will be used to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd for betting purposes.
